Anti-Roll Vest....Ugh....

Hello!  I've had another busy week...and some more exciting news.  After a week now on my ramp, I have been able to lower it twice and am planning on lowering it again tomorrow.  Once I can consistently get down in less than a minute, my parents tell me it's time to work harder.  Even more exciting, the skills I learned on my ramp are transferring to the ground.  Although I can't move myself on carpet just yet, I'm 90% of the way there on tile.  It's so fun to be able to go get the toys I want :)  Since Grandma Jane has gotten here, she made my anti-roll vest, which will help increase my strength.  It was nice of her to make it, but I really do not like it very much, when I want to roll on my back, I want to roll.  I'm old enough to do what I want these days, so I think this vest is kind of rude.  Mom and Dad say it's for my own good.

Another piece of good news, the Orthopedic Surgeon who did my Cerebral Palsy evaluation last Thursday said my hips look fine, there is very little tone in my right leg, and that he is certain I will walk before I'm three years old!  Thank goodness :)

I was so excited last week, I forgot to mention that I got another speech evaluation.  This one was very different from the last.  The speech therapist said I was age appropriate for receptive speech (what I understand, the commands I can follow), but a bit "at risk" in expressive language (what I verbalize). I guess she doesn't think saying "hi dad" and "butt" are good enough.  So, I begin weekly speech therapy tomorrow. 

I got my eye surgery scheduled for October 7th, even though I'm a bit nervous, I'm glad it will be here (and over) soon.  They told me the recovery will be about two weeks of black and bloodshot eyes.  I hope it doesn't hurt, but maybe I'll earn some street cred at the play dates Mom and I have been attending :)

I got my one year pictures taken yesterday (Mom says we're going with my adjusted age on this one).  A couple turned out pretty good, but I didn't really like the wardrobe changes and fact I couldn't eat.  Mom says we don't have to do it very often! 

Dad is traveling this week and next, but home over the weekend, so we'll have to do something really fun.  While he's gone, I'll just be Grandma's buddy!  Well, I better run, have a great week!
