Sending Out An SOS!

Hello everyone, Minny here (that's right, my name is now Minny!).  I wanted to let you know what I've been up to, but also ask for your help.  Remember me telling you that my parents decided "constraint therapy" would be a good idea...well, my brace came in and this was the result.

I have to say I have adjusted since day one, but being forced to use my right hand has meant almost a total loss of independence.  Mom and Dad have to help me do everything now since my right hand isn't strong enough to grip large items, I don't have a developed pincer grasp, and I have a hard time pronating (rotating) my hand.  We are up to almost six hours a day of bracing, and to be honest, it may be as tough on Mom as it is me.  She says maintaining an extreme level of intensity around all my activities so I don't get overly frustrated is an "honest day's work."  But, the results have been nothing short of "amazing" according to my parents, which means they are totally on board.  Terrific.

The only thing I want to do is vacuum.  Yes, you heard me right, vacuum.  In fact, I wake up screaming "VACUUM!" and go to bed at night thinking about the vacuum.  My parents are worried we are doing permanent damage to the carpet fibers vacuuming three times a day, but that's what I want to do...and since I have to wear this stupid thing, that is what I get :)

Don't get me wrong, my parents aren't all that bad.  They let me...

Play in the hamper...

Go on hikes in the dessert...

(and take a rest when I need one)

Ride Plasma Cars at Ben, Will, and Kate's house...

Catch up on community news, while taking a wagon ride...

Go to birthday parties with bounce houses (barrel rolling down the slide was fun!)...

Eat watermelon...

Swing, and...

Visit the neighbors with my baby...

My Grandma Jane went home this week, I was very sad...now all I can talk about are planes and going to "Tana."  Maybe someday soon!

My Grandma and I were attached at the hip, she's good for my ego.

Thanks for the trike Grandma Jane, not only is it Bob Doman approved, but a lot of fun!  My parents promised to get me a cool helmet!!

Have a great week...don't worry about me...I'll just be here...with my brace on...making new brain connections!
